Default Weight on Stands

New to the site and have a question on my mind. Im a big hunter over 6 foot and around 325lbs. There are alot of nice stands with a rating of no more than 300lbs. Would it be safe to use these stands. I usually buy a two man stand but feel that I'm spending extra money. What is everyones experience or feelings. Thanks for your time.

Although the posted weight ratings PROBABLY have some "wiggle room" I'd not trust them. I've seen some stands rated to 350 lbs (Summit Goliath I believe as an example). Better stick to the doubles or others definately weight tested above your point...IMO. Good luck.

I agree with bugNbows

When it come to treestand safety and your life you should stick with what your using.
Going over the maximum weight limit is asking for touble.

I am also a big guy about your size. I use the API Grand Slam Magnum Extreme stand. Rated to 350. That way - I don't have to worry about it. I have never felt unsafe...at least not because of the weight limit.
