I've seen where they've been but not where they are. And a couple 300 pound hogs.

Scouting, haven't done any. I've been chasing these critters for close to 50 years. If I can't walk in the woods a week or two before the season(or the day of the hunt) and find enough sign to hang a strategic stand I better quit. I may take a drive once in a while and glass some deer, but more often than not it's NOT where I hunt. I go to NY 3-5 times a year. I'll spend a day or two floundering and then try to pin something down. I have "favorite spots" but they're all subject to change and quite often do. I see NO valid reason for a bunch of heavy scouting in June and July or even early August when my seasons start in mid Sept here and Oct 1 in NY. Ialso go mid Oct to NY.I go up again in November. Every trip is different as far as food, rut cycle etc. Nothing I do now is as valid as taking the time to drive a perimeter, check some bottlenecks, fields, acorns, beech nuts, apple tree or whatever at the time of the hunt. I can't be making special scouting trips to NY. I just go up when the time comes and do some serious hunting. Around here I pretty much have just gotten into the practice of letting everyone pick their spots and my old spots and then I try to figure out where the deer will go when they spook them.[8D] One of them is a lot more fun than watching a deer for 3 months, everyday and then have him killed by a car the night before the season opens. I had that happen once years ago. I watch 5 bucks all summer, every night. The night before the season opened the largest, a massive 12 point was killed 100 yards from my stand on the road. I killed the 10 point opening morning. One 8 point we found shot in a field before any gun season opened. The other 8 disappeared. The 6 point went through a school teachers window and crippled her for life. Nope, don't need all that scouting.

My scouting has proved that I taste good to ticks and mosquitos.[8D]
Heard that...and chiggers too. I'm still itching from those darn things.[:@] Sucks they like to go under skin tight clothing.

that 105 degrees is entirely too hot to be doing anything other than laying in the pool or sitting in front of the a/c.

That no matter how much I sweat in 105 degree heat it is not enough to break the drought.
