Slow Motion Video of STS in action
Paul Mohr mentioned this video in another thread. He said after seeing this video there's no way he'd use an STS. What do you guys think?

Holy crap!!! Looks like the bow is coming apart.

RE: Slow Motion Video of STS in action
I'd like to see a slomo of the same bow without the STS to be able to compare.

RE: Slow Motion Video of STS in action
Look at the rest of the vids on the sight. It shows a few bows without the sts and windstalker cable gaurd, then a few with them on.
I can't believe how much your string and cables move when you shoot! But after seeing how your string slams into the STS after the shot I don't think I would want one on my bow. Looks pretty voilent to me. I was considering the windstalker, but after seeing the vids I don't see where it really does much, not worth 70 bucks that is for sure. At least in my opinion. RE: Slow Motion Video of STS in action
Its really hard to judge effectively without seeing both the comparison of a bow without the STS and also seeing a larger video so you can see the point at which the arrow leaves the string.
I'm no expert, but I like my STS and I'm gonna continue using it until I see a reason not to. |
RE: Slow Motion Video of STS in action
The bows without the STS look pretty violent too. I will continue to use mine. I have not heard of anyone having a bad experience with one other than not being happy with noise reduction. Until I hear of some physical failure I will continue to use it and recommend it to friends.

RE: Slow Motion Video of STS in action
My friend has one and it drastically quiets the bow to a very low doink. I do not have one and have considered getting one installed but my bow is as quiet as my friends so I'm just going to fine tune for the season and maybe i'll get one in the off-season. Personal preferrance really.

RE: Slow Motion Video of STS in action
That's really cool and it's amazing to see what happens to a bow on a shot like that but geezzee that's suppose to quiet your bow?
|
RE: Slow Motion Video of STS in action
I have a question. What happens when that rubber piece falls off and your string hits the metal bracket? NNNOOOOOOOO thanks I'll do without.
|
RE: Slow Motion Video of STS in action
I'm not doubting that it works, too many people have them that like them to say they are junk or anything. Just doesn't look like anything I would I want. And my bow is already really quiet and has no handshock to speak of.
I just saw those videos and thought Holy crap that thing really smacks your string when it hits. I am still debating the windstalker though. Paul |
RE: Slow Motion Video of STS in action
i have a double sts and it works great, but i had no idea that a shot was that violent. I am going to keep mine on for now.
|
RE: Slow Motion Video of STS in action
A bow while in the motion of shooting is extremely violent....STS or not. I guess until I start hearing negative comments from having one on, I'll still shoot with it. It has done wonders to my bow for noise and hand shock.

RE: Slow Motion Video of STS in action
Looking at that video it only adds more stress to the string at the point of contact with the STS. Instead of the string being stressed along its entire length evenly the STS creates a point of higher stress right where it makes contact with the string.
There are enough stresses on a bow and string at the shot with out the need to add some more. |
