Default Heavy Duty Setup

I am going to hunt black bear for the first time and I dont know if my arrow setup is going to give me the best penetration. Ive killed whitetails with no problem and heard that you should go heavier for bear. I shoot 28'' ST Axis 400 with Blazers and 100 grain Slick Trick mags. My draw weight is 63 Lbs.

Sounds like a good setup to me. Just remember, you can go a little farther back on a bear as their lungs are bigger than a whitetails. Just stay away from the front shoulder, you'd be hard pressed to put any arrow through their shoulder blade. Most bears taken in my area are taken by deer hunters during the archery season.

I think you will be fine with your current setup.
