Whitetail hunting is not a team sport. Any attempt to make it be a team sport is probably going to have poor results. It adds a cheap artificial element to the whole wonderful process of hunting.

I have joined the hunting contest this year. This is the first contest that I've ever signed up for in 39 seasons of hunting. As far as I know, there are no prizes. It is not televised and I've never met any of my team mates. I will not be hunting with any of them, side by side, so it seems a lot different than the team hunting on TV. Besides, I'll try anything once. I believe the TV guys are competing for some kind of prize. I prefer to compete against only myself and the deer. The HNI contest will not change that.

i can hardly watch the show. i saw some of it this week where they had to compete to race up and down with a climbing tree stand to win prizes. that looked like a real safe thing to do. [:'(]

I am only going to post this once as I'm sure I can get my point across the first time.

Actually, I'd say our "contest" and theirs are completely different. Ours is to get to know fellow hunters, has no rewards other than bragging rights, and theres no pressure to do stupid things or contests.

Although you are trying not to sound like a dick, you kinda sound like one to me.
