I'm from Pa and these guys don't represent what the majority of Pa hunters are all about. My votes are going elsewhere.

Whitetail hunting is not a team sport. Any attempt to make it be a team sport is probably going to have poor results. It adds a cheap artificial element to the whole wonderful process of hunting.

Good post. I feel the same way. I don't care for the team thing.
Funny....we have a team competition right here on this forum that a lot of people are part of.

I am only going to post this once as I'm sure I can get my point across the first time. I have joined the hunting contest this year. This is the first contest that I've ever signed up for in 39 seasons of hunting. As far as I know, there are no prizes. It is not televised and I've never met any of my team mates. I will not be hunting with any of them, side by side, so it seems a lot different than the team hunting on TV. Besides, I'll try anything once. I believe the TV guys are competing for some kind of prize. I prefer to compete against only myself and the deer. The HNI contest will not change that.

i can hardly watch the show. i saw some of it this week where they had to compete to race up and down with a climbing tree stand to win prizes. that looked like a real safe thing to do. [:'(]

I'm not trying to bust your balls or anything but you say you don't like the team thing but you are in the Deer Hunting Competition and you say you will try anything once? The competition on here is just the same as any hunting competition. Just because you can't physicallysee your partner or it is not televised don't mean it's not the same. I'm not saying anything bad about it because I wish I could still sign up. I like the whole competition thing. I love the Dream Season show. I'm just saying you are being hypocritical. I'm not trying to sound like a dick because I could really care less.

Actually, I'd say our "contest" and theirs are completely different. Ours is to get to know fellow hunters, has no rewards other than bragging rights, and theres no pressure to do stupid things or contests.

Thanks Joshkeller, this is exactly what I was trying to say.

Although you are trying not to sound like a dick, you kinda sound like one to me.
