Report from the north woods.
Wisconisn Acorn Population: Down big time. We have alot of Red and White Oaks on our property that normally have a great acorn crop, usually hundreds upon hundreds, this year on most of our trees we have seen maybe 30-50 on one single tree, some trees dont have any and some only have 3-4 on them. Its has been goign down hill for a few years. All the trees are extremely healthy. IS there something else that would cause this kind of acorn shortage. There are a few othe rpeople that are ssaying the same thing, no acorns.

Here in NE Illinois the trees are thick w/ acorns. The most I've seen in the 13 years Ive lived on the property. Some limbs are hanging about 2 feet lower than normal due to the over abbundance of them. I thought last year was good!!!
