How about feathers -vs- plastic? Which is better?
Aaah.... Now you've opened up a can of worms! ;):D

Feathers are far more forgiving of rest contact, slight brushes with a twig or something of that nature on the way to its intended target, and... they just plain look cooler! [8D](If you get barred feathers, that is... ;))

On the other hand, guys will complain that they create too much drag past like 50 yards and slow their arrows down.... (No concern to me; I'm not shooting at olympic distances), and you have to take an extra step to waterproof them in the event of hunting in a soaking rain.

There ya have it: Three pages of arguments boiled down to a couple paragraphs! [8D]

I had 2 arrows. One was fletched w/ 5" feathers, the other w/ 2" Blazers. Both arrows weighed w/in 5 grains of each other. Both were tipped w/ Magnus Stingers. First, I shot the feathered arrow. Then I shot the Blazed arrow, and shot one of the feathers off the first arrow.

So, which is better? It would be easier to answer which came first, the chicken or the egg.......;)

edit: Oh, the shots were both taken at 25 yards.

I agree, the feathers look cool. I'm going to go with a trophy taker drop rest so I might try the feathers with a right offset or helicle. I appreciate the help dudes!
