Last year is last year and this year is this year. Deer patterns can change drastically from week to week not to mention from year to year. Need more info...are you hunting timber, a field edge, crops, acorns, bedding area etc. How many times have you hunted the stand and not seen deer?

We have NO apples this year, and one of my very best places to hunt has been DEAD as a result this year. I can almost always count on hunting a brushy funnel between the apples and a thicket, but not this year.
I'd guess its a similar situation.

Another possibility would be that your spot on the curve of the creek is carrying your scent to the deer before you see them. Creek hollows can be tricky to hunt because of the way scent travels in them. If you are seeing sign that the deer are using it when you are not there, this is probably the answer.
