I have an idea for something that would sell to the outdoors community, but I don't know how to go about actually making "one". Can you patent the idea and work with a company to actually design and produce your "idea"?

no, you'll need blueprints and schematics to obtain a patent....

yea you need that, plus its a good idea to get a patent writer to help ya.. costs lots of $$ but its worth it in the end. Get a few prototypes and then you can sell your patent rights, or start your own company.
