FYI for anyone who is seriously interested......first round of resident doe tags are being accepted on Aug. 7th.....and non-residents on the 21st.....so if you want a chance at a doe tag...you've got about aweek to get the regular lic. and apply for the doe tags.

I would be there, but I've got school to contend with....good luck to everyone who is going!

OK, we're going to get this done at some level. With bhirst help it will become a fun time for everyone. We'll help take some deer and have a good time. We have an offer for a place to stay, a place to hunt and we have a landlord that is willing to help us have an enjoyable time. Heck, every time I meet up with someone from this site I always have a good time. It'll be one of those back slapping laughing times. I do want to try and put the less experienced in the right places to succeed. The rest of you old timers will just have to take your chances. I know everyone who has expressed an interest will abide by the rules of the nursery and any others we may come up with. Nothing difficult, just some organization to the whole thing. Who knows, this could become a regular/annual affair if it suits the landlord. Good friends, good country, some deer to be seen and shot... what could be better. Focus people... get in the mood. Right now it's only a weekend or whatever we decide out of your busy lives. Forget the money and all that stuff. We gather to have some fun and hunt. If anyone wants to attend but has some problems or questions please PM me and we'll see what we can do. I'd really like to see this happen. Heck, you know you'd have fun even if you don't get a deer. I suspect we can even talk RonM into coming along to stir the pot and he doesn't even bow hunt. Rickmur needs a designated driver in the form of a retired State Policeman.[8D] That way at least he may arrive without a speeding ticket.[&:]

Anyone know what WMU these guys fall into? Bradford county has 3 different WMU's set up there.

What about Rob? He's not far away........

Hey, I just read about this..... WOW! does this sound like a great idea! [8D]:D

I like the land/lease that is out near Crows, VAout near the WV border. I am going to inquire about that one. The ones up in PA near Bradford sound great too. Is that way up in PA near Bradford along Route 219? We go that way to Buffalo when we visit my wife's family.

Ol Ron scares me more than I do myself with his driving, kinda like yours David:D. I will get there one way or the other but that time of the year it will have to be a weekendthat could start withFriday. We supplythe entire Delaware School system with thier food and it's tough going trying to get off Sept-Nov. I did manage the first week in Nov but only because there are 2 state holidays in that week. This is take place sometime in Oct right?
BTW, I'll make the scouting tripwith ya if you want some company.

This looks like a great oppurtunity for anyone that is able to go...where else can you go hunt on someone else's land and take deer with a group of respected hunters...

if you are a non resident..don't get any hopes on drawing a doe tag.
It'll cost you $101 for the license $26 for a bow stamp another I think $16 for the doe permit application (refunded if you don't get drawn)

Residents can apply Aug 8th Non residents have to wait 2 weeks after that. The tags will be gone! They really cut back, due to the herds rapid decline. My WMU was out of tags by the time we (non residents and LANDOWNERS)could even apply last year.

Now if the Nursery is getting the tags then I'm in and will stay at my own camp. In fact I could fill 3-4 huntingspots easily!!

Ps the above figures are from memory so don't beat me up for a dollar or two here and there!

In NY the bow license is antler/antler-less. Is yours buck only?
Thanks
Steve

I ask the question as to whether or not the nursery had any permits. He said NO, you will not get any from him. Good question on the tag being antlerless or antlered with the bow. I hadn't thought of that. I'll check the website or someone from PA can tell us.

PA Issues you an antlered deer license stnadard w/ your hunting license that you can fill with whatever weapon/season you choose. This is all you are guaranteed w/ license purchase in PA. After that you apply for doe permits according to what WMU you want to hunt in, which you can fill w/ any weapons that you choose that allow antlerless hunting (bow season included). The reason I wondered what WMU this place falls into is because bradford county is split into 3 major WMU's. My place which is in southwest bradford county is WMU 3B and has a lot of permits being issued. I know 3B 9is fairly easy to get a permit for as an out of stater (I do every year and there are more this year than last). You have to submit the app on the day they start accepting though on 8/21 I believe for out of staters. I hate to do this, but I have limited time to hunt PA and if my 3B permits aren't good at this place I may not be able to show up, if I am buck hunting only I may just stick to my place.
