Thanks guys, he is a tank.

Squirrel, I zoomed in the photo and looked at the spot you circled. There is a red spot on the deer but it is way to bright to be blood, there is also a bright blue spot above that so I am pretty sure it was just something that the camera did.

James, that is a massive drop-tine, dang, looks like a baseball bat :D

This buck lives on my property where I can hunt him, last year was nearly impossible though because he lives in a large patch of brush that you can't hunt in because its too thick, you have to belly crawl to get through it. Last year this brush was surrounded by corn so he could go anywhere he wanted without being seen. This year though, we cut a few lanes out of the brush and planted them in some BioLogic and there is no corn surrounding the brush, it is all soy-beans. I have a pretty good idea of what he is doing and where he is staying, hopefully he keeps his pattern going till archery season.

As far as the drop-tine, I zoomed in two pics and the more I look at it, the less I am sure it is a drop tine.

In this pic, you can see where it appears that the "drop" tine is just the G-3 that has folded down on the inside of the main beam. You can see a color differance in the velvet on the main beam that makes it appear to be just a broken tine.

In this picture though, it appears that the broken tine is comming down the inside of the main beam, but it also appears that there is a drop-tine in front of it as well.

I would have to shoot that just because of the spread. That thing is wide!

Tease tease tease. Call us when you are sitting behind the bugger with a smile as wide as his rack. :DI really hope you get him, cause it's torture to keep seeing a buck that big and it's not even august yet.

And if you happen to get a $100 cabelas gift card in the mail, I'll be glad to find the culprit who sent it, but I do my best work sitting in treestands where large wide racked bucks are known to frequent;)

Well guys, I went out this evening as we have a storm moving in and I wanted to do a little glassing to see if I could find the big guy. I saw a bunch of doe and fawns come out into the big soy-bean field followed by a little spike. They were in the field about an hour and left. About half an hour went by with no deer so I decided I was gonna back the atv up and head home as it was almost dark. As I turned around I looked behind me and there he was, the wide buck. He was at about 80 yardscomming out of the woods into a small soy-bean field. I watched as he fed and then I saw more movement as buck after buck after buck came filtering out. 7 other bucks came out into the field, 3 of them were big 10 points, 3 were really nice 8 points, and there was a wide 4 pointer. I watched them till it was dark and then I headed home. I moved the camera out of this area today to try another one of my honey holes and now I am regreting that move. I will be taking the camera out of the new spot on Sunday and I will be setting it up in the woods where these bucks were comming from! Its gonna be a gooooood season.
