Typically, though......the deer here in NC don't have the CHANCE to grow to that size....ever. There's a lot of "If I don't shoot it....somebody else will" going on in our state.....(and maybe everywhere...I'm still pretty new to this).
It's a GREAT buck. That's for sure. I've seen more bucks (6-8 points)on my trail cam than I thought were in my little hunting area.

I know it starts with me (read "US")....but it's hard when my PRIME spot is 24 acres. I'm depending on my fellow NC "man" to do the right thing.
How many friends do you have hat passed on 8-pointers?
I passed on EVERY deer, last year. Or....I didn't get the right shot

I wish you luck. This year. Keep looking for more property. I've picked up some more each year but still would rather drive north to hunt. I got access to 50+ acres now in Chapel Hill. The only rule is I have to shoot every deer I see. Not very conducive for growing big racks.
