This is the Squirrel. As I have stated on some recent posts I make up the other half of Team Illinois. Many of you responded to some of my earlier posts, which we greatly appreciate. I am glad to see that you guys caught the show, and feel very similar to how we felt when we were there in Missouri. The show pretty much covered how we felt about PA, so I don't need to say anything else. We just didn't appreciate some of the slams they gave us early in the show and at Missouri, considering that was the first time we ever met them. Thanks for the support. Squirrel (Team Illinois)

I have always liked the Drury Outdoors videos and mark and terry, have all their videos from the beginning However, this year the show seems more like an Oprah episode and about charity...this year it just seems that each teeam is trying to outdo the others by being the most givingand it seems as if it is getting away from hunting...i donate plenty myself but an occasional show about make a wish or hunt of a lifetime is fine to me.

Just my 2cents

Well Squirrel and Buckthumper, I just got done casting another vote for you guys. I wish you could tell us whether the Penns. loud mouth was kicked off but I am sure you were sworn to secrecy. It definitely isn't hard to tell that he isn't liked by the other teams. I thought they were really idiots during the shooting competition also. I really wanted you guys to beat them. It will be cool to hear your comments as we watch this all unfold. It is pretty cool this year watching the show and feeling like you kinda know a few of the guys competing. You guys are cool. You will win. Just remember all of us little common guys after you guys become Drury Pro Staffers will ya?

LOL Just turn it off.

Are we talking about any other show? No! They've done their job right then. To them it really doesn't matter if you like it or not, just as long as you talk about it. Emailing them is just a plus for them.

I find it funny that people have such a problem when "hunting shows" do something different, or show something most would-not. I can watch nearly any-station in the evening and see practically nude people (or blurred-out), people swearing and dropping the F-Bomb (bleeped) every-other-word, see people eating "internals" for money, people getting blind-drunk, breaking the law, people getting beaten down, and a variety of sick and wrong content that I can't even watch because it makes my stomach turn. I won't even comment about the day-time crap, which is basically soft-porn!

Yet, the first time a hunting show cross's this "invisible line" people go jumping all over them for doing it? I swear, I drink beer, and occasionally I even get naked. This is real, so why not show it? The whole point of the show is to show real hunters during a real season is it not? Do you not drink beer (or cocktails) at camp? Dinner? I suppose you've never been drunk at deer camp either? I'm not saying I get tanked before I head into the woods, but in many camps, the brew is as important as anything. Not my camp, but when I go with my family up in Michigan, that's the reason most of them even go! They're aren't any deer to chase after!

I haven't seen the show in-particular, but I do get sick of everyone that tries to hold the hunting industry up like it's a religion! Realize what about 95% of the hunting market is comprised of! I've seen my share of them hunting up in Michigan on public land! This is just my opinion of-course!

I won't even mention what some of these "good" guys do at hunting trade shows. You should see half the guys who portrey themselves as "good christian familymen" on camera! Of course, I'm in-bed by 9:00 everynight!

Agreed. No need to get the panties bunched up over something that might be staged. It's called "Shock Value".

I did not see it so I can;t speak to it first-hand but I'll bet that the majority of these hunting shows have some serious drinking going on that they don;t have the sack to show it.

Everyone is offended by something. Just think of how many people are offended by hunting. We call them tree-huggers, right?

Main frame- with all due respect you didn't see the show. It did not offend me in the least. I drink myself. This was a top class reality show IMO, and may still be ultimately. The point was this guy was a knucklehead and an idiot and by basing most of the program on his behavior, this episode was downgraded to a farce just like every other reality show on TV.

I don't disagree that guy may have been a putz. All I'm saying is they went "outside of the box" to test the waters. From a programmers perspective, they are looking for threads like this to prove they got people's attention.

It's like Howard Stern. When asked about Howard, many radio listeners said they can't stand him. When asked if they still listen, most said yes.

Why??? Because they want to see what he's going to say next.

People drink. People hunt. The two don't mix. Period.

I too have known people who did not understand this fact.
I have since distanced myself away from these people.

His partner did the right thing.
He is a great role model.

I am glad they showed it.

From my perspective, there is nothing wrong with a cocktail or two at the end of a days hunt. To some, this is part of the celebration of the hunt, of friendship and of life.

However, if you over indulge, and you wake up drunk, you don't climb a tree or put your hands on any weapon. You sleep it off.
