I think our little sika deer is in rut already. Pic is a little dark. Looks like an early rut!!!!!!!!!

People confuse this act with mating. We see it in puppies and female dogs quite often. This is actually how animals show dominance.

If you've ever had a litter of puppies you will notice that one puppy will do this to all the other puppies to show them he isthe dominate puppy.

This little deer is showing you he is superior to you.

Great pic but remember the bucks/males are always in rut meaning ready...rut is determined by does and does alone....like male dogs don't come into heat...they are there when the females do...

From what I understand, they make great house pets, is little buck house trained?
