Ratchet Straps For Hanging Stands

Whats the best straps for hanging stands? and where can you get them? I have some of the cheaper Wal-Mart variety and I don't really like/trust them even though they are rated for like 1200 lbs. Help me out guys, just trying to do it safely.

Thanks, LT

Those will do just fine, but most treestand manufacture's make and market their own. I know Summit and API do. Check BassPro or Cabelas.

I just use the heavy duty kind you buy in the automotive department at Wal-Mart. They work just fine. I use them along with the one supplied from the treestand manufacturer.

Does one or the other have a quick release type pushbutton or something? I find those cheapos hard to release and deal with while hanging on the side of a tree with a safety belt. Just wondering if anyone has seen any like I'm describing. Thanks Motown and Mobow.

I've not seen a ratchet w/ a quick release, but they do make one that you pull tight, and all you have to do is push the clamp in and pull it loose. They don't ratchet tight though, but you can get them pretty darn good. We haul our 4 wheeler w/ those, and it's never come loose.

I got some ratchet straps from a local Meijer's I think there made by Summint or something like that.
Anyway they have a button by the ratchet in the back, you just push it and it release's .
They are pretty good and I like the extra safety that they provide.
I'm sure what you have will do fine.

I have used the WAlly world ratchets for years... Just inspect them completely as with any other strap your life may depend on.. I can't sat there all the same quality but there not that far apart.

A nylon webbing strap is a nylon webbing strap no matter who markets it .
Other than slight differences in the design of the ratchet mechanism they're all about the same , use one with a weight rating you trust .
