I live and hunt in south east kansas. Lot of public land and alot of farmers I know and they let me hunt. Some big deer there including some booners. I hit one booner in the truck going bow hunting, he was over 180 as a 10 point. A friend has some sheds mounted that are 195 ish with the spread that he has, he was a 10 point to. They are around but you got to work for them.

I was just helping get those guys excited. Everyone knows there is big deer in kansas. I see Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas tags alot on vehilces. Some of the places I deer hunt there's no way some out of state hunter would look at to buy. Heck the hunters that live thier think it wouldn't hold any more than a cotton tail. Yet I dropped a 14 point outa that draw in rifle season.

I can see where jelen would be concerned. You see a lot of the underhanded stuff going on here (SE PA). But I will admit for the three years I hunted in KS, it's not only the deer that bring me back but the hospitality of the people. It's been a long time since I've met people like the ones I'v emet in KS.Just wish I could finda job out there.
Last year a party of three harvested a 169 6/8 and 143 3/8, both with bows. As the season gets closer I can't wait to head out there and scout in late AUG / early SEPT. Get's my heart pumping just thinking about it.

If you need information on where to hunt in Kansas. I have clear color aerial photos of every one of the 2,500 sites covering over 1,000,000 acres of public walk-in-hunting.Check out the ground cover, do your scouting from home. If you need GPS coordinates to help you find these areas, I also have them available.
Check it out.
If you get lucky and get some private land, I do custom aerial photography cheap.

Hey Kansashutmap, how current are your ariel photos? I've looked up my land on a couple of web sights, but the photos look to be at least a few years old. For instance, my pasture is getting way over grown with cedar, BUT in the ariel photos that I have looked at, the pasture still looks, for the most part, pretty open!
