I am just curious as to see what kind of rut activity are you guys starting to see as of the 1st part of November were you hunt?
As for West Virginia the bucks seem to be no where close to the rut. I have seen no scrapes, no rubs or buck on there feet during daylight at all. I sure hope things pick up next week!

Here in Berkeley County, WV, they are beginning to get interested. Had a nice buck chasing does and grunting. Used a bleat call and had another nice one come sneaking in, but I did not see him until he was about 20 yards away and too close to maneuver for a shot.

In Montgomery County Maryland I've seen several rubs and many scrapes along field edges. Only found a few scrapes in wooded areas though. Haven't seen any chasing acty but I'm sure that will change soon! I'm taking all next week off and am expecting (ok, praying for) good results.
Good luck to you all and make sure you vote on Tuesday!!!

I'm glad you guys are seeing rut signs because I sure ain't in west TN. I've seen one scrape that hadn't been freshened in some time and no rubs. I've seen plenty of tracks by some heavy bodied deer, but no other traditional buck sign. My sis saw a bachelor group this weekind at my parents' house, but I have yet to see a buck in the woods. What gives?

In East Central Illinois I have been seeing fresh scrapes and rubs. I have been seeing bucks traveling with does and last night I saw a large racked buck chasing a doe.

Extreme NE Indiana - Pre-rut is on NOW. Bucks cautiously wondering in search of receptive or soon to be does. The middle of the month should open the gate for the rut.

MY HUNTING AREA OF NORTHWESTERN NJ, WE HAVEN'T SEEN NO SIGN OF THE RUT. I HAD A SMALL 4 POINTER WALKING BY, SMELLED THE DOE IN HEAT SCENT FROM JAMES VALLY, CAME IN SMELLED IT, AND WALKED AWAY LIKE HE WASNT INTERESTED. 2 FRIENDS SAW A SPIKE HE TO HAD NO INTEREST IN THE DOES. SEE THIS WEEK IT WILL PICK UP.
