RE: Whisker Biscuit or Drop away?

My only complaint with the biscuit has been the hiss while drawing my arrow. Joe PA mentioned using an arrow with a smoother finnish? Any reccomendations would be greatly appeciated Joe PA. My Pro Shop is a drop-away lover and was little to no help to me with this exact question (except to reccomend switching to a drop-away!) ;)

Hey, Mergrath: ACCs are pretty smooth, and make very little noise. The ICS Hunters, Axis, ST Epic, and any of the arrows with a slightly shiny finish are basically silent when drawn. I personally don't care for camo carbon, some that I have tried were very noisy to draw. If you are looking for a great arrow at an economical price that is also pretty smooth, the Carbon Express Terminator Select (black) arrows are the ticket. Most Gold tip arrows are pretty smooth too. I really like Carbon Tech arrows, but the finish on them is not so quiet through the Biscuit, so I just use them with my drop away bows for hunting. Good luck finding what you want.

RE: Whisker Biscuit or Drop away?

I have personaly shot both WB and Drop away. I did not care for the WB and I had a very hard time getting a good paper cut from them. I am not saying they can't be properly paper tuned I am saying I had a very hard time doing it on mine. I loved the idea of not having to worry about my arrow falling off the rest while hunting. I now use a shaky hunter and got the best of both worlds by adding a new arrow rest holder that pinches the arrow on the shelf of the bow. When I draw back the arrow comes out nice and smooth with no noise but at the same time I can flip the bow up side down when not drawn and my arrow never moves. in my opionion this is the best of both worlds. Bottom line it is all in each shooters prefrence but I will never go back to the WB. Drop away all the way.

RE: Whisker Biscuit or Drop away?

theres a lot of talk about the drop away being better with less than perfect form. my question (or statement)... is that there is many times you have to shoot from a treestand with less than perfect form for many different reasons. (ducking to shoot under a limb, shooting with a twisted body because you cant move your feet, etc)

i just bought a switchback that had a wb on it and am having the matthews drop put on it. has anybody used this drop away?

my misses with the wb are much worse than my misses with a drop away are. its kind of like a pro golfers miss is on the right side of the fairway and the average golfers miss is OB. my miss with the wb was 6 inches...miss with the drop was a couple

Depends on your bow, but I'd have to say drop away. Mine is the Muzzy. If there were no drop away I'd stick with the old prong rest of even a springy that I hunted with for years. The thing I dislike about the whisker bisquit is all the fletching contact and the noise. For decades we've tried to eliminate fletching contact to attain the best flight and speed possible. The whisker bisquit goes against everything that is physically desired. Yes I know, people use them and they work. It's just not my way of thinking.

Drop away;Trophy ridge drop zone for me,NOfletching contact/ ZERO /NONE period. That says it all for me.I shot the biscuit for 2 yrs. before switching, I'll not be going back. This little gemworks great if you are worried about stalking/holdingthe arrow.
