Bruce I only went out a few times so far with the smokepole, saw 3 one time, but no shot, I had one of the twins with me and she saw them also, 2 doe and a large bodied deer bringing up the rear, no shot that I was willing to try.
kcison you are right, I have been addicted to huntng as a whole, but now I am even more so and will be chomping at the bit next bow season, I have learned a lot and plan on breaking down and getting a new bow now, I just could not bring myself to buy a new one when my original was still a virgin, the bow has been deflowered and will now go into retirement.
WV Hunter it feels GREAT!!!! I was actually more excited over this doe than I was over a huge 8 point I killed in 74, as I already told bruce I only went out a few times with the smokepole, saw 3, 2 doe and one big bodied something.

Yes...it does feel Great!!! I can see how it could feel as good or better than a nice buck with a gun.
It always amazes me...I've killed plenty of deer with a bow...and STILL I get totally pumped when the chance comes about....even on a small doe!! Love bowhunting! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> I hope that feeling never goes away.
Our muzzleloader comes in this coming Monday...I'm gonna give it a whirl...

Ive been gone for 2 weeeks so I missed this one.
WAY TO GO TAZ. CONGRATS. Ive been pulling for you to get your first with a bow. The rest will just get easier once you break the ice.

Way to go. I got your monkey and one more weekend to pass him on before the gun season starts. I'll be trying but again, congratulations, and I'll be more than happy for a doe.
