What do you say....
Here's another fun thread for you guys.:D
Ok, you are perched in your tree stand and all of a sudden you hear movement. Here comes a shooter at a steady walk and doesn't show signs of stopping. My question is what is everyone's "special sound" that they make to stop a deer in it's tracks? I think I have whistled before or said "hey" but haven't had to do it in a long time. Just thought it would be a fun thread.:) |
RE: What do you say....

RE: What do you say....
I have a gunt I make with my throat. Works really good. Sounds just like a grunt call.

RE: What do you say....
grunt with throat (used once for a shot)
mahhhh or murrrhhh kinda sound (used once for a shot) whistle (onceto keep a doe in the area) grunt call if i have it (never have) |
RE: What do you say....
Hard to explain, but easy to do......I make a fast ticking sound w/my tounge out the side of my mouth. It's not loud, but it's strange enough to get their attention.
I vocally bleated at one once, and the sudden loud noise made that rascal bolt. I swore I would never do that again. |

RE: What do you say....
Either I say "Urrp" or "Maaah," whichever decides to come out.
Never had a deer spook to either one. Hunting pressure is low in my area, so strange noises don't spook the deer as bad. |
RE: What do you say....
I normally do a doe bleat....something like....Maaaaahh.
