I do more ground hunting these days, but when I do climb, I stay low and thick. Usually under 15ft.

20-25' for myself. I have a few ladder stands that I put my wife or boy in and they are only 15'.

I'm usually 20ft and under. Where I hunt there's no need to go any higher!

Are you measuring from head high or feet high while on stand? Mine vary from 10 up to 30(from my boots down) depending on the situation....LOL all I know is that the average stand I see in the deer woods of someone elses is under 15 feet up, I know my hunting terrain is not the same as everyones but I have a feeling some of you guys are answering from how high it apeares to be when you look strait down.

ORIGINAL: Washington Hunter

Jamie, that's why I love hunting in Washington.

More often than not I have too much cover in my trees and have to cut out a lot in order to see.

Man I love the Evergreen State.
You have an open invitation to hunt out here in the east. I hope your not afraid of heights but if you'd like to have a herd of 20+ below you and get a shot of, you'll need to be high up there. Just let me know when you want to hunt.
