Setting up a scouting camera
Im planning on setting up my scouting camera sometime this week along a trail. I just wanted to know should I set it up straight across form the trail or diagonal or some other way. and would it be wise to put out a salt or mineral block? Also how far from the trail should it be

I think its best if you can get it pointing down the trail to maximize coverage. Also, I have found that most people tend to mount the cameras too high. I have had the best reulsts with the cameras about 2 feet of the ground. (for whitetails)

yeah set it up pointing along the trail even the slowest of cameras will get it, it has to trigger fast for it to be straight across the trail or the deer has to walk very slow depending on the camera.
What camera do you have?????

I know you're not asking me... but for the record. I use digitals andI have had horrible luck with Wildview cameras and I have had really good luck with Moultrie cameras. I was pretty surprised because I have never been impressed with other Moutrie products.
