I just got home from college and was in a hurry to get in the woods, so I didn't take all my normal scent precautions. Once I got to were I wanted to hunt I realized I forgot my rope to pull my bow up so I had to ground hunt. Right off the start I got within range of a doe but there was too many trees in the way and then she went the other direction. After that I spotted a deer feeding over the bank, so I decided to sneak in a little closer and realized it was the nice 8 I have been seeing. The area i'm hunting is an oak flat and he was just moving along eating acorns. I finally worked my way within about 30-35 yards. It was very windy and this enabled me to do that. I could have forced a shot, but there was a few little limbs in the way and I didn't want to take a chance and wound him. I was getting ready to make one last move to another tree which would have gave me a great shot, and then the "blows whatever way you don't want it wind of west virginia" switched and started blowing his direction. Instantly he threw his head up and took off.
I thought about going back tomorrow and hunting the area all day out of my treestand and see if he ventures back into the area. Do you think this is a good idea or have any other suggestions?? Do you think he will come back tomorrow sometime during the day? The bucks here haven't startd chasing does yet. Any suggestions or comments would help.

I have busted deer in my area several times and would always see them the next day, but about 3 weeks ago a friend and myself shot a doe a piece and haven't seen any sign since. I think it all depends on the area. Is there alot of cover close by? Good luck I would try it again but keep my movement to a minimum while bow hunting.
