That is cool for the shop to do that for you IMHO.

I never really bonded with one of my brand new bows a couple of years ago either. I made due for a year and then replaced it soon there after.

What sucks with new bow buying is you don't really know until a couple of weeks into it. I wish you could rent for a week or two with the option to buy later.
That's what I plan to do with my wife's next vehicle purchase- rent each model were considering for a few days and then decide after we test them ourselves. Sucks to buy one after a few test drives and then find out later it doesn't make you smile.

The Trykon draw cycle was one I knew I couldn't live with. Too bad they didn't offer the cam & 1/2 as an option. I really like the way those cams draw (actually like the ram & 1/2 better). I know it would have been slower, but I bet they would have sold a few.

If you want a really nice drawing bow try the Old Glory.

I also tested the big 3 this spring and my thoughts about the Trykon were exactly why you are now going to part with it. The whole draw cycle and sudden crash into the valley looked like it would not be good when drawing on a spooky old black bear. I bought Bowtech since I am a short draw length and nothing can beat the Equalizer but I have to admit that I really liked the Switchbacks feel. If you prefer the longer ATA of the Trykon XL make sure you also test the Allegiance the Tribute will be quite a bit shorter than your Hoyt. And the Ally is the fastest also.

I think the guys have pretty much said it all: If you like the longer a-to-a, as well as the speed that Trykon generates, I'd take a hard look at the Ally. With the speed cams, you'll probably be faster than the Trykon; with the smooth cams, you'll likely be a tad slower -- but oh what a smoother draw cycle than the Tryk.

If you lived closer, I'd let you shoot my Tribute and Allegiance for a weekend to help make up your mind.

I am sorry to hear you will be leaving the Hoyt family but I think that your discision is a good one. I mean why shoot a bow that you dont really like? Ihope the trade goes well and that you will be more happy with the new one.

I just got a 2006 Old Glory on Tuesday and I love it. I tried the Trykon and the Switchback first and I went with the Bowtech because of the draw cylce. The Trykon felt really harsh when it breaks over and the switchback I just didn't like too much overall. The new Bowtechs are pretty awesome, and the camo finish on them is excellent.

Thanks for the support guys.:)

Greg: that is kind of you and I would take you up on it if I were closer.

You gotta like what you shoot. I don't think anything is wrong with the hoyt line...Ill be back in there in a few years. ;)

I love about everything with the Trykon, except for the draw cycle. Like everyone said, it's pretty harsh, when comparing it to other brands. Hoyt almost did it. Hopefully in the bows to followHoyt can clear up this issue, and turn the one big issue around. What a great bow it would be then.
