I pee on it when ever I hunt that particular stand or location.

Allof the scrapes I keep track of are not being used right now but a natural mineral Lick will get attention year round especially in spring. Sounds to me like thats what you've got there. It's good to have one,you don't have to buy mineral blocks! I notice the scrapes in Wi start getting used in August and get really hammered in Sept

I have seen 'worked' scrapes and licking branches in every month but june and july and the beginning of august, the hottest months, and there are probably a few being used, but I'm not in the woods much then....it is just the vast majority of activity occurs in the fall. I have never put a cam over a scrape later than December though since usually there are better spots after the rut but I would be curious what deer use the scrape in the off months. Just dominant bucks or more than that?

Scrapes are used for breeding purposes, so I would have to say no, they will not be effective this time of year. Once the bucks loose theirvelvet their aggresive nature will start to shine, though.
I would have to agree...their testosterone level is low but maybe they would smell them out of curiosity...try it..what have you got to lose...post your results.
