I'm not gettin into the whole foreign import debate. If you don't drive a ford you are retarded :D

My good truck that gets taken on long hunts and DD duty.

My hunting truck/beater/freshly built truck. The body may be a '67 but nothing else is, and there is not 1 part under the sheet metal that isn't made in America :)

Just for kicks - this is the only view that imports see of this truck:

Here is my hunting rig. I only use it for hunting and it has all my gear ready to go at a moments notice. 1977 Chevy blazer with a 350. Runs like a top and I would trust it to run across country and I only have $1500 in it.

This is my newest hunting rig. 2005 F150 FX4 supercrew. This is probably the best vehicle I've ever owned, but it sucks gas. I believe that most trucks do. I've only had it since September and I already have loaded 3 turkeys and 2 whitetail bucks into it and it performed perfectly! I love this truck.;)These pics are kind of dark, I'll have to take new ones.

To all you GM owners. Thank you from UAW Local 465. By the way I don't make $30/hr, I don't read magazines on the job, and I take pride in my work. I help cast the 4 cylinder Ecotec that goes in several GM models. A souped up Ecotec has made 1000 hp. Not bad for a little 4 banger made by slacker auto workers who are running this country into the ground.

Thanks hardcore. Your Blazer is real nice as well. I am an old school classic truck/car guy myself. If I had to choose between a brand new vehicle or an old one for my "good" vehicle, I would choose an old school truck/car anyday of the week. Nothing beats the rumble of American Iron.

rankbull - its nice to see another ol Ford thats been taken care of/ressurrected. They are very few an far between in my parts. Is that stepside box from a '92-'96 F150?

I have a 1988 chevy s10 blazer and now I am planning on buying one of those new toyotas. I have had the blazer since I was 15 and desperately need something else. I never thought I would buy a "foreign" vehicle but I like it much nicer than anything in its class. I test drove the Chevy colorado, dodge dakota, toyota tacoma, and the nissan frontier. I have yet to drive a ford.

I did "pimp" the blazer but dont let that fool you. She has hauled quite a few deer in the back.:D

This is what I will be getting in a couple weeks hopefully.

rammer it is a 98 box, was on there when I got it. It runs a built 460ci I was going to make it taller but I think its good for a daily driver. I have a 79 250 (my first truck and will never give it up). I also am building a 1979 Bronco. I am a ford guy but if it is pre 80s and made out of metal then it is a keeper in my eyes. From a show truck to a rusty old American dream. There is nothing like American horse power.

We used to tease each other about Ford Vs. Chevy VS. Dodge. Then we just started chain bumper to bumper and my ford was a winner. But this stopped when my friends convinced their parents to buy them new diesel trucks. I think it would be nice to own a new truck but don’t see it for some time I am 21. I got my truck with long hours working on farms and I am proud of my $1600 truck.

I'm a union electrician and if a Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Honda , Hyundai, or any other foreign auto maker hired the electrical contractor I work for to do a job and they sent me, I wouldn't have a problem going and making my living off of them. So theres no way I'm going to put down someone who buys those same products. I say drive what you like and what you've had good luck with.

As for the American brands; they all make good vehicles with an occasional lemon.

RE: Pimp My Ride Red Neck Style !!!

I've been doing more reading than posting on this site lately, and after reading this thread I had to weigh in with my own thoughts.

First off, all of you people who continuously yell at others to "buy American" should stop passing judgement to everybody who may not have the same buying habits as you.As an American, I enjoy having the freedom to invest my money in the best products that I can. I work hard for the money that I earn and even though I consider myself a good American, I am not willing to piss my money away on a product that I feel is inferior just so that I can brag to my friends or people on this site that I bought a Ford, Chevy, or Chrysler product. You cankid yourselves as much as you want to, but the reality iswith all things equal, my Toyota truck will keep running rings around yourAmerican made truckfor years and years after yours is cremated.

I was raised to take care of my belongings.I have always changed the oil in my cars religiously and keptupon preventative, routine maintenance. The first new car I ever bought was a Chevy Z24 Cavalier.Like all new cars it was great at first. Then after about 5,000 or so miles, it began to develop the typical "Chevy rattles". During the five years that I owned the car, I spent several hundred dollars in repairs, includingnew brakes afteronly 30,000 miles, and when I sold it with 72,000 miles on it, Isoon found out that its repair bills were so ongoing and expensive that the second owner was forced to sell it. I felt bad for the guy but would have felt even worse if I had kept it for another year!

Against my better judgement,my wife and I then boughta Jeep Grand Cherokee as soon as we sold the Cavalier. The Jeep was in the shop 16 (yes, that's right)- 16 TIMES in the year and a half that we owned it, and usually it was in the shop for multiple problems at a time. From fuel pump problems, to a fractured head, to suspension problems, it was the biggest lump of junk I've ever owned.

Thesestories lead me to our two, currentvehicles-a'99 ToyotaTacoma extended cab, 4wd pickup truck and an '04 Toyota 4Runner.My truck has 95,000 miles on it and my wife's 4Runner has 60,000 miles on it.NEITHER has been in the shop for ANYTHING other than oil changes.I just putnew tires on my truck (again, it's four wheeldrive and isdriven hard) and it STILL doesn't need brakes.

Now, for all youAmerican automobile die hards, come and get me! I'm not saying that your Chevys and Fords can't go for 200k + miles, but what I'm saying is that this is the exception, not the norm. I'll be laughing all the way to the dealer come trade in time! I hope you don't have to pay somebody to pick yours up when you're donewith it.

(Boy, do I feel better now that I got that off of my chest!) :D
Buy what you want. They'll make more.

First off, all of you people who continuously yell at others to "buy American" should stop passing judgement to everybody who may not have the same buying habits as you.
But it's OK for you to pass judgement on them?? Kinda hypocritical don't ya think?

As an American, I enjoy having the freedom to invest my money in the best products that I can.
What proof do you have that Toyota is the "best" product you can invest your money in??.........please don't say you had a Toyota that was good and an old chevy that was was not as good. Hopefully you have something more solid to back up that bold statement.

I work hard for the money that I earn and even though I consider myself a good American, I am not willing to piss my money away on a product that I feel is inferior just so that I can brag to my friends or people on this site that I bought a Ford, Chevy, or Chrysler product.
It AMAZES me that so many people are unable to grasp the bigger picture here. Don't you understand that every dollar that leaves our borders makes this country weaker and some other country stronger.........do you really not see that?? Sure, it is subtle and slow moving changes but just remember.........this country was founded on PRODUCTION......not service. Years ago there were jobs to be had EVERYWHERE for a man willing to put in an honest 40hrs/week. You finished high school and went to work for the plant, or the factory, or the mill.........now we have to go to college for 8 years just to find a decent job......and even that is usually a service of some kind.

I just don't understand how someone who calls himself a "Good American" would give tens of thousands of dollars to some other country before he would invest it in the USA and his fellow neighbors.

"Inferior"??.........what a crock. My truck has a 80,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. Haven't used it yet. This truck will run long after I am bored with it and get a new one. My family must be the luckiest people in the world.........we have won the lottery with every American vehicle we have ever owned.........miraculously we must get the only good quality ones and everyone else gets the lemons.

You cankid yourselves as much as you want to, but the reality iswith all things equal, my Toyota truck will keep running rings around yourAmerican made truckfor years and years after yours is cremated.
Not if you hit a squirrel and total it.

I felt bad for the guy but would have felt even worse if I had kept it for another year!
No one has EVER had a similar situation with a foreign vehicle I am sure  I can't even count how many old Nissan, Toyota, and Mazda little pick ups with the beds practically rusted right off them.

I'm not saying that your Chevys and Fords can't go for 200k + miles, but what I'm saying is that this is the exception, not the norm.

So you only stick with the exception when it is bad??.........when the exception is good you want to dismiss it?

That is some warped logic.

I'll be laughing all the way to the dealer come trade in time! I hope you don't have to pay somebody to pick yours up when you're donewith it.
I have plenty of money........thanks to the opportunity my dad had to make the best of his life on nothing more then hard work and pride. He made enough money to advance his family to a better life and I applied his work ethic to grinding my way through grad school. Now my wife and I live in a beautiful home, my brothers do as well, my dad is retired and enjoying his well earned rest and our family is where it is today thanks to the opportunity that was there for my dad when he needed it. Take your couple extra dollars if you even get them.........I will take the smile on a hard working neighbors face as we grab our coffee at the same shop and head out seperate ways..........if my money helps him do the same for his family as my dad did for us.............Well, you just can't put a price on that.

Buy what you want. They'll make more.
Exactly............They will.................We won't.

Wake up.
