Dave trust me if I could get a deer in the right spot I would kill it! I have seen more deer than you can shake a stick at and they magically manage to avoid giving me a shot!!!

And so is the joy of bowhunting. All those "almosts" make the occasional kill that much sweeter.
Hang in there. Lots of time left. You'll be eating tenderloins soon enough.

RE: I HATE DEER!!!!
Don't feel too bad Taz, I hunted a spot yesterday for the first time in week due to all this rain we had. Any way last week I saw to deer in this stand but they werer too far out for the shot. Yesterday I went out was a friend of mine, I hunted the ridge they came up on and he hit the next one over. I used my bleat about half hour after I was settled. About 20 min later I had a doe sneak up on me from a spot I knew they would come. She was already half way out of the brush when I saw her. I had no choice but to wait till she turned to try and reach my bow(she was at the most 10 yards away). When she put her head down I reached for my bow and I could get it free from the holder...she of course looked up and I froze...now my heart really started to pound. After what seemed like a minute stare down she put her head down I got the bow free and tried to draw, guess what happen?....I couldn't draw the release had slid about 6in down from the arrow. It gets worse. I'll finish the rest later.
There he was broad side at 20 yards. I drew, released and....

RE: I HATE DEER!!!!
...Well I let down and she looked up again. And again she stared and I stared and then she put her head down. I slid the release up and tried to get my bow in a better position to draw....You'll laugh at this, my cam had caught my pants so I couldn't move the bow so what I did was draw until my leg was free. I got free and started to get into position and then from the corner of my eye I caught a glimps of another deer coming through the same trail. I didn't want four eyes so I drew. Big mistake cause when I drew she was looking right at me and she bolted to about 30 yards out into a thicket. I was at full draw so I held it there and hoped the trailer would come out. After holding it for about what seemed to be a couple of minutes I had to let down. When I did the arrow popped off and fell to the ground. The deer didn't run so I quickly nocked another arrow and waited. At this point I could'nt see the deer. Then it busted away from me. It ended up being a basket 6 or 8 point. Have no clue where the doe went. Talk about bad luck...
