Default More May Bear Pics........from PA

I have started carrying my Sony DSC-V1 everywhere I go now in the woods and some of the stuff I have been getting is awesome. Hopefully I will have video of a turkey kill later this season.

These were taken over the weekend in Bradford County, PA.

That's a little too close to a momma bear and her baby bears for my comfort. She's obviously checking you out too. Nice pics though. What's the optical zoom on that camera?

Yeah, I was a little close for my own comfort when I realized what I stumbled into. Momma wasn't threatening though and seemed more curious than anything, I am guessing since I wasn't between her and her "kids". To give you an idea, my camera only has a 4x optical zoom............so yes I was very close to these guys when these were taken.

Great pics and a great idea about carrying the camera with you. Is that a digital camera or camcorder? I am tinkering with the idea of taking my digital camcorder out with me on hunts. Many of the models are so small these days that you can take them just about anywhere.

It is a digital still camera w/ 4x optical zoom that also allows you to take video. It will take video clips as long as your media (memory card) allows you to take, I have a pile large file size memory cards so I can get multiple video clips up to 5-10 minutes in length each in a single day, plenty long enough to piece together footage and make a movie out of. I am actually quite impressed w/ the video and pics, it will do 5MP on still pics and the vids are excellent as well, it has night vision for early morning hunts, plus the whole unit is about 5"x2" in size.......so it fits in a pocket well. You can actually see some vids I took out of the turkey blind last weekend if you click the journal link in my sig to get an idea of quality of video. The only downside of it is that you have to be 40-50 yards or closer of anything that you want good video of because of only having 4x optical zoom, but this works for bowhunting.
