RE: 5X5 or 10pt
I'm glad I'm from the Midwest and don't have to take sides on this one!
Around here, most hunters just call them by total points, but I actually like call it by both sides. It tells you more information about the rack. Was it somewhat sysmetrical? or was lopsided? To each there own. OK, y'all can start fightin' again now. Bye. Keep 'em all in the Bull. |
RE: 5X5 or 10pt
*LOL* @ all you guys.
And I dunno, stealthycat - out west here, a crick is what I got in my back while I was dragging my 5x5 out of the bush. |
RE: 5X5 or 10pt
East Coaster here and I say a deer would be number of points.
Elk/Larger members tend to have more symetrical racks so they would be 5x5, 6x5 etc. One of these Years I will get drawn in the PA Elk tag lottery and Just say My trophy. Yes we in PA have an ELk Population. Not all that uncommon for an non-typical rack on deer. What do you call a non typical rack? Hopefully a monster but I dont think 12x9 or whatever sounds as good vs saying 21 point non-typical. To each their own I guess. Either way when walking through the woods don't eat the brown smart pellets. |
RE: 5X5 or 10pt
Both ways of counting gets the same outcome.
Wait a minute, if my two 11-pointers are actually 6x5's, does that mean I have two "30-point bucks"? !! GForce Shoot often - Hunt always |
