I went throught the same discovery a few years ago. Here are two groups shot at the same yardage, out of the same bow. The top group 100gr, the bottom 125gr. These results were consistant, so I have been shooting 125gr ever sence. Interesting.

I've always shot with about a 13 or 14 FOC for hunting. I don't care about speed so much so have always shot 125s with feathers. I just bought my first light in the front arrows. I kept the same arrows but went to the Quick Spin Vanes, the larger 4 inch ones. It dropped my FOC to about just under 9. The quick spins seem to make up for the light front end. We'll see what happens when I put on the broadheads. If they don't group great, the quick spins are gone and I'm back to feathers or possibly try the small quick spins. Also I don't know what difference the longer Thunderheads will do to FOC vs. the field points

I'd like to try feathers one of these days... Perhaps a camo Gold Tip XT Pro Hunter 7595 with feathers (according to my archery program "OnTarget2", the camo version of the Gold Tip with feathers would give me the blazing speed along with a pretty good FOC (11.something..)

I got one with 100s dead center, then the next broke the nock in half. I was kinda mad because i wanted a robin hood, but at least i didnt break my arrow. I also use beman ics hunters.
