RE: Bow for Wife
My wife shoots an 80 lb. bow. When she brings me a beer she opens in with her crack.

RE: Bow for Wife
Talon,
I started with a Fred Bear bow. 25#-50# Just this last Christmas I got a Mathews Mustang! I can't even tell you how much better I am shooting! My groups have narrowed down quite a bit. I started shooting right around 40# in the beginning. It wasn't that hard for me, but I grew up on a farm where my arms got quite a good work out from lifting bales of hay and such. Even with some weight lifting your wife can up her poundage pretty quickly. (As long as she is diligent with it.) Also, check what your state laws are for what poundage your bow has to shoot for big game animals. Make sure she can hit that weight by opening day. The biggest mistake that I see most women make when shooting is they let theelbow of the arm that is holding their bow roll in. Then, when they release their string THWAP!!! A good ole smackaroo on the forearm!!! For some reason women tend to do this more than men. Tell her to watch out for it and buy her a good arm guard! Good luck! :) |

RE: Bow for Wife
I bought my fiancee a Browning Micro Adrenaline. Got a good price, and a nice bow. It is small, and doesn't have much draw wieght. I'd recommend looking into one of those.
