Not exaclty too sure, other than the Switchback is a bit faster, and the limbs are more parallel, which should lessen the hand shock. overall they seem to be pretty similar.

The main difference is neither are Hoyts [:-]

Seriously, both are awesome bows and I would be proud to own and shoot either of these Mathews. The Outback is a few inches shorter axle to axle - 31.5" vs 33,Outback isabout 10 fps slower - 308 fps vs 318 fps, andtheOutback hasa slightly bigger brace height 7.65" vs 7"

One is very over-rated and the other is, well, very over-rated...I don't know of an animal alive (or dead) that cares what kind of bow it got dead by. Point is, well, there isn't a point. I just like poking fun at the Matthews bows any time I can just because their owners swear nothing can compare to them. I refuse to shoot one because if I like it then I can't pick on them anymore and that wouldn't be any fun.

Slight differences in construction that you can't really see (limb bolts, etc..)
The new SBXT is rated a little faster.
THe limbs on the SBXT are more parallel. (even less hand shock)
Different cam / draw cycle feel.

The Outback is available in 0.5" increment draw lengths.
The Switchback is only available in 1" increment draw lengths.

Oh and about three letters.[8D]

On paper and in pictures, I agree there seems to be little diff at first.

I shoot an outback, and have for 2 years. I like the Outback better than the Switchback. The Sb just feels a bit soft in the wall for me.

Personal Preference! That about it, oh and I forgot to add the Switchback is just a bit smoother and quieter than the Outback, and thats saying something because the Outback is a smooth quiet shooter.
