I began practicing with my bow just shooting targets without using the pins. I began to get rather accurate this way and never got around to setting the pins, so my question is, have any of you ever heard of someone not using the pins with a compund bow? I know you usually don't have them on a recurve but how about with a compound?

It's possible to do. Don't know many who do it, but you can instinctively shoot with a compound. If you can hit consistently with it and practice without pins, go for it, what the heck.

Good luck huntin!

A friend of mine shoots a compound with no pins and hes got it down to a science. We were shooting at a pepsi box a couple of weeks ago and he hit the box everytime, however a different friend of mine and i couldnt hit the box for our lives. If you can figure out how to shoot without pins i say go for it.
Shoot straight and shoot often.
