Hey guys thanks so much!......Definitely not a die hard 'Ground Hunter' but under certain conditions its worked out well for me.
I knew the title of the thread would getcha.

I wanted to answer "Cabelas 4 Toys" question.....and I'm sure I'm gonna cause a mad stampede over to Ebay. I use an HP-315 (2.1 mega pixel) It has the LED screen in the back so you can check what you are taking and if you don't like them just delete and try again. Mine was a bit salty when I got it, but that was over a year ago and you know how technology goes.....they are now dirt cheap, and take awesome clear pics. I see them on Ebay all the time for around $100 or so. I use it so much it's almost stupid.....nothing like the instant gratification of downloading your pics as soon as you get home!

"Brirute"......I know ,the one day I kill a buck is right after I'm singing the praises of the Summit Goliath!....
There isn't even a tree in there I could hang a loc-on stand its that thick. And if it wouldn't have been for the trimmed shooting lanes it would have been impossible too......homework paid off.

"Whackmaster"...yep Rocket Mech. These heads have been gold for me since 1997. This is my first year with the 4 blade Sidewinders and with my set-ups have been AWESOME.

"Cyclone"....see how ya have to be! He's legal under the new AR's, and actually a 4 point on the left side. (they only need 3):)

"MQ-1 Shooter", Greg yeah....what ever works brother. Let me know what you do next and I'll try it!

"Mantis" Good point......When I say the pic doesn't do his size justice I forgot to ad some scale.....:) I'm 6'3" and ohhhh about 275 lbs with all my gear on.

Yeah he was a weird old guy.....the wife was very happy for me and anxious to see him when she got home from workm and she looked at him backed away and said....."OHhhhh He's SPOOOOKY!" I guess he's now the Halloween "Spooky Buck".

Matt, Congrats on a great hunt and outcome...

On the digital camera, do you use it from your stand to take pics of close deer that you don't intend to harvest? Is it noisy or have you ever had any issues with the camera scaring close deer?

Most digital's I've seen reproduce the shutter noise of a mechanical camera or beep to let one know the pic is taken, I guess. I would love to have one if it was SILENT.

Way to go Matt! Nice buck! I killed a big doe the first week, still got another doe tag and buck tag to fill. These next two weeks should be good, I won't be able to hunt our last week here in PA..........I'll be in Illinois . Congrats again.

Matt,way to go!
I hunted some from my ground blind last year and it is a whole lot different at eye level with them!
Been seeing lots of basket racks, but no big boys yet!
The rut is coming here soon and I have 5 days off then....maybe the big boys will be thinking with something other than their heads, hee, hee!

Congrats Matt! Thats a great pic considering you took it yourself! If I tried that you'd see a pic of me in mid air after tripping over something on my way back to the buck.
