Default Game Cam Pics....

I figured I would post these up in here since I am sure most of you haven't made it over to the turkey forum. I posted these in bowhunting because this season I am going to try and take my first with a bow and I *should* be leaving the shotgun at home. We have about 12-15 of these birds that are still flocked up, and over 300 pics of them now over the last 2-3 months. Out of all the pics, only 2 pics were of hens, all the rest were at least 2 y/o gobblers with 8" beards or better.......looks to be another promising season this year.

Great pictures Rick, what's the name of the trail camera you're using?

Think you could get away with hunting from that box blind? Would offer a perfect bowhunter's vantage point...

It is a leaf river digital, I love it. I have probably 10k pics on it in the last year, and it works great. Quite a few of those birds have some hooks on them....most of these birds were 2 year olds last spring so there are a lot of mature ones in there, they just don't get pressured except by me and whoever I call for up there so they get the chance to get older.

I might hunt out of that, however after seeing multiple turkeys out of it last fall and getting busted from up there (you get skylighted up there pretty easy) I may hunt out of the Brickhouse instead. I also don't know if the turkeys will concentrate in this exact spot much now because the feed is goneas of about a week or so ago(PA law says 30 days before season starts all feed has to be gone), they primarily use a shelf behind this as strutting area on their way out of the trees and only occasionally go to this spot with no feed there. I did call in a nice 10" bearded bird in this exact spot though last spring for my dad, that was his first spring bird. That was quite a day, I called another one in earlier for him that put on quite a show but dad spooked him at about 40 yards out. Only an hour later, I managed to call another in for him right where this camera is at.

Those are some great pics. I am quite jealous because it looks like you have a great spot all set up for the season. I have been out scouting for birds over the last month or so but have not had anywhere near as much good fortune. I might try to put my cam out a few places to see if I can get any bird pics.

On a related note, I see you are from NY but you mentione PA law..is your hunting camp/area in PA?

I lived in PA for 9 years, at different points in Huntington, Tioga, and York counties and just moved north about 2 years ago to NY. This property is my hunting property in Bradford County near a small town called Canton.......I do a lot of my hunting here.
