Winn also makes a relax version. It's the model C-12 I believe. It is specificaly designed for finger shooter. Instead of squeezing the trigger, you hold the trigger down and relax your hand like when you're shooting fingers. I have (2) of the Winn releases. One of the original C-10 and also the loop model. I like everything about them except they are obtrusive and makes your hand pretty much useless while it's on.

RE: Winn Free Release

I've used Winn releases since '96. I've tried others (Tru Fire Hurricane, Scott Lil Goose) but I keep going back to the Winn. It just works for me. As far as it rendering your hand useless, I don't agree with that. It's just something you have to get used to. I climb into my stands (screw in steps and ladders) with my release on as well as fumble around getting set up.
I've never had any problem with this release and I hunt in any kind of weather imaginable.

RE: Winn Free Release

I like mine and don't plan on switching to something else in the near future. I don't like wrist strap releases and have used swivel hand held releases. After dropping the hand held release and staring at it from up in a tree stand a couple times only to have to climb down to get it, I wanted a release that was strappedon my hand and ready to go at any moment. The Winn gave me that option.

I'm use to mine. I have no problem using my hand for other things with it on. Takes a bit to get use to it though. I do wish they would have made the strap a bit longer. You really can't use aheavy glove for winter hunting here with it. I know one guy that added on to the strap and I need to do that to minealso. Not uncommon to hunt in 10 below or coldertempsat the end of season. A skimpy glove doesn't cut it!!
