My best friend and I were thinking about going out a trying to work together to call in deer. Our thinking was if one of us were to stay 50 to 75 yards behind and rattle or grunt to try to get one in range. This might allow the guy in the lead to get a shot at a buck looking for the ruckus just over the hill so to speak. I guess it would be comparable to partnering up to turkey hunt. I was just curious if anyone had tried this technique and had success and could share any of the do's and don'ts. Any insight would be appreciated.

The technique you describe can work. However, both of you have to play the wind and know what direction the buck will, most likely, come from. He made not come in from the direction you expect him to.
As successful rattling has been for me, during rut, the buck could end up breathing down your collar. Deer can pinpoint the location of a sound from a great distance.
I have done what you described, but the other hunter has been almost beside me. If rattling while on the ground, also bang the ground and rattle the brush, and hang on, Lucy. If you do it right and a buck is totally convinced and is looking to rumble, he can be on you in a flash. I know.

The best place to try calling is the woods. You prob. won't see much from the office where you have been parked all fall. <img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>
With those new "M" bows you just have to call them close enough to see the sticker on the limbs and its over.
