Bow for wife
So my wife was hanging out with me today while I was target shooting and she said that looked like a fun way to get some exercise... She also said she would be interested in target shooting for fun and a good workout.
So where do I get started... I don't want to spend too much, as she will never hunt with a bow and if she ever got that serious, I would get here something better. I would still like it to be a quality compound bow, no really cheap plastic thing. Also what weight to start her at? She only weighs 115 pounds, but is very physically fit for her size. Thanks! |

Get her a fully rigged Switchback with all the bells and whistles, then when she quits in two weeks you got yourself a sweet setup. Trust me this will work.

Sorry to say this TeeJay, but that is probably one of the most ignorant things to say, not to mention selfish. With hunting under attack we need as many women and children in our sport as possible. Plus time spent with your wife shooting, hunting, or in the outdoors is quality time together. My wife and I spend as much time together outdoors as possible, she has become myfavorite hunting partner. p.s. I won't mention what she called you when she read your post. |

Newguy, takeyour wife to the shop to get fitted with draw weight and draw length, then advise her butlet her make her own choiceonwhat bowshe wants to shoot.A variety of reasons for that. She will be involved from the get go and that will keep her interest level up. She will be able to decide what feels most comfortable for her and we all know we shoot best with a bow that fits well and 'feels right.' And, if you have made all the decisions and it doesn't work out, then you're in the doghouse. If you let hermake the decisions,you're off the hook because it was all her idea. ;) |

My wife shoots a Browning Micro Adernaline in 30-40 lbs. The draw length is adjustable from 18-28". The price was very reasonablebrand new on Ebay (~$220). She shoots it well and I highly recommend it for a female/small frame maleshooter. She shoots PSE Carbon Force 300 arrows and a Whisker Biscuit. I wish I had this rig back when I was 14 years old!
