Default SwitchBack XT Opinions???

I just picked up a new Switchback XT, what an awesome bow. It is shooting 20fps faster than my Legacy with the same arrows, draw length and poundage. 300fps at 67-68lbs with a 29" draw and a 330gr arrow. I was shooting it in the basment and it is very quiet with no vibration. I would highly recomend the Switchback XT.

What does everyone else think about any of the Switchbacks?

Thanks
Tom

What shafts are you using to get a 29 or so inch arrow down to 330 grains? Are they made of lint?

You're just under 5 grains per pound at 330!

PS: I just love my new XT. I don't know how fast it's shooting but it sure shoots sweeeeeeet.

I have a Trophy Taker rest which is basically like an overdraw so my arrows are 27.5" long (Gold Tip XTs).

I love mine. I just got mine a couple weeks ago after using a High Country bow for a few years. It is like going from a Sentra to a Corvette. I do not have a chrony to measure speed but it is really fast and super quiet. My hunting buddy has one on order already.

Trembow noticed the same thing I did; you may really want to check your grains/lb. ratio if you plan on keeping your new XT for a long time...

Other than that, congratulations on your new bow.

I shot one 2 weekends ago, was a sweet shooting bow for sure.

But I chose a Trykon over it

Interesting....prior to reading any replies I did the math and became concerned about your arrow weight as well......I can see the speeds with such a very, very light arrow.....I can imagine how much faster you'd be with the Allegiance and the Trykon.

That being said, the Switchback is a great bow. I shot it heads up with the Trykon, Allegiance and Tribute. I wanted the Switchback to impress me to the point I wanted it to be my choice but it didn't.....I wanted it to and I did like it very much but I ended up putting $ on the Trykon and then replaced it with the Allegiance....The Switchback was the slowest but it was also the quietest...they were all equally smooth and vibration free...

My grains perpound is only about 5 grains off, I don't think it is going to hurt my bow. The recomended grains perpound was once6 and even 7.

But if very likely IS hurting your bow. Granted it's only a small bit under the recomended minimum but in a very small way you are dry-firing your bow a little bit every time you shoot it. Over time this can cause cracks in your limbs, bearing problems, cable failures, etc...

It probably won't explode on you any time in the near future, but why risk damage to your bow for just a few FPS?
