Blazer Vanes not up to 4inch vanes
#1

I tryed my 2inch blazers with the 100gr muzzys with the practice blades installed.Paper tuned bow.then yesterday tryed dull cutting blades.Should be the same as practice blades right?NOT! The actual hunting dull blades
caused eratic arrow flight! I had 2 arrows fletched with 4 inch vanes tryed
them they droped right in with my field points where they were with the
practice blades. So I guess I will be shooting 4 inch vanes next fall!!
I have heard all the hipe on the blazers and the fact for me is if the cutting diameter is around 1 inch they will fly fine but get much bigger and
it seems that you need more to stableize the flight. The blazers just dont seem to have enough helical to shoot bigger diameter broadheads!!!! You would think the practice
blades would fly the same as the cutting blades but there is
a difference.

D., when I use Muzzys I never trust the practice blades. I too found they did not fly the same as blades thus the reason I always keep my dull/once shot blades to practice and test my arrows.....
Your experiment with the Blazers is interesting especially regarding all the publicity saying differently. Without testing them myself, I did doubt the ability of the Blazers stabilizing a sturdy fixed blade head....thanks for the hardwork.

Strangely, I had completely the opposite result. I shot an arrow tipped with a 100gr Stinger fletched with 5" feathers. Then I shot an arrow with 2" blazers and actually shot one of the feathers off the first arrow. With the steep angle of the blazer, is it possible you are getting some fletching contact with the rest?

I dont have any fletching clearance problems.Have a trap door
drop away and they were flying fine untill I put on the dull hunting
blades! When I first set the bow up there was a small clearence
problem. But turned the nock a small amount and presto,no more clearence
problems!!!

sooo if you had shot the blazer first and then ripped it off with the feathered arrow would the feathers be better??
I myself have never found anything to control a large braodhead better than a 5 inch feather.

I've shot blazers for two seasons with great accuracy with 3 & 4 blade muzzys and montecs. The only times my broadheads did not fly the same as my fieldpoints was when the heads didn't line up with the shaft. Give your arrows a spin on there tips and see if you get any wobble.
