I am also going to try for antelope in 2007. Dont forget to get your preference point before March 15th I think because they just started that up this year. Cost is 30 bucks for non-res. The area I am looking to hunt is unit 17. Good luck

In Montana you can get a guaranteed archery tag, you still have to apply but you are guaranteed to draw, the tag is good statewide also for any antelope. I went last year in september and was into antelope every day, just couldn't close the deal, closest I got was 50 yards but needed 40 for my comfort level.
I used the mel-dutton decoy and the lohman challenge call. I did get a reponse from the call one day. I had a herd of antelope about 200 yards away and I was on top of a ridge, I put up my decoy and blew on the call and a buck blew right back at me! This went on for about a minute then he gathered up his does and took off. Lots of fun. I hunted public land and never saw another hunter

South Dakota has unlimited archery tags and there are tons of public land in the western part of the state. The best hunting is in the harding county area. By the way the tag is not limited to any county, it's where ever there is a antelope season. The S.D. game fish and parks will have all the information you need.

Rocky Niles www.rockyoutfitters.com Rocky has more antelope than he knows what to do with! Super good semi-guided Wyoming antelope hunt. Very nice lodgeing, and did I mention tons of antelope? I guided several years for Rocky in MT, KA, and WY. We killed some super bucks their.
