Already found a problem shooting my BowTech...

Well, I'm starting to get her dialed in a bit this afternoon...

Problem is, this ol' bag ain't used to these speeds! ;)

This is the wall of the shed my bag was sitting in front of. I knew better than to shoot at the middle spot, as that was kinda gettin' worn out anyway. But I hardly ever shot at the one on the right before! Geesh!

And this is after backing her back down to 65!

Not only is she whisper-quiet, and scary fast, she's a looker, too! :)I think I'll keep her! ;)

Good thing you aren't shooting a Hoyt.......Your arrows would be on the other side of the fence......:D:D

Yep i agree if you would have been shooting a Hoyt those arrows would have went right through the shed. J/K Nice shooting and congrats on the new bow.

Congratulations on your first kill! An illusive wooden shed. Make sure you get plenty of pictures with it!

Better move the bike.;)

It's funny to see those arrows!LOL So they're shooting good? (so far anyway) They're tough but they'll bend so keep the shed hunting to a minimum.[:-]

Your "problem" is an easy fix..........you better use two bags, one behind the other.;) Good shooting!!!

far....:D

Greg, what is that stabilizer you are using?

Great looking bow!!

Gut Check 01-29-2006 04:15 PM

RE: Already found a problem shooting my BowTech...

mq-

That is the stealth stabilizer. www.stealtharchery.com

I have a 4 inch for my Switchback. Camo matches Mathews perfectly. I can take a pick of mine and send it to you if you would like.

Greg / MO 01-29-2006 04:18 PM

RE: Already found a problem shooting my BowTech...

Yep, you can get 'em dipped in most of the popular colors nowadays... Obviously, you're looking there at the Realtree Hardwoods HD, which would also match the newer Mathews as well.

Give Jerry a call at Stealth; he'll treat you right!

Very nice looking bow for sure!!;)

I ran into a similar problem today as well. I took my Tribute to it's first 3-D shoot this morning and actually shot thru a couple of the targets and had at least 3-4'' sticking out the backside of all of them. Even a few new ones that hadn't been shot. Great bow!!!!

My dads ol Browning was like that at 65 also

As with most men, what you want to do is firm up your bag. You can send her to the gym, go canadd on a workout room to your house (which I strongly discourage), or you can hang ole Betsy up from the rafters of the old shed. Kindof like a "retiring the jersey". Now you don't want to make her jealous- she knows as well as anybody it's time for a new bag, but you have to break it to her real nice. If she's understanding about the whole ordeal, she'll let you fling an arrow at 'er every now and then. You know - for old times sake. Haha. Joking - sure is a nice looking bow, good luck this season (however far away it may seem!).

you need a better target.good thing it didn't hit anything in the shed i can think of some things in a shed that would make a mess if hit

you will slice through a deer like melted butta

Exactly. Let's just say I won't be aiming at any shoulder bones on purpose, but I won't be as worried about hitting one as I used to be... ;)

Greg!

That look's all too familiar to me ,I've got hole's in my shed just like it from my Dually.LOL
I'm not using that target anymore until I get a new target.

My shed has metal siding on it. It kind of looks like swiss cheese. I put a few layers of carpet behind the bag. This helps a bunch. Its pretty amazing the KE created when a arrow goes 300 fps

RE: Already found a problem shooting my BowTech...

ive got a steel shed and its got quite a few holes in it. thats the only way i can shoot tho caus the other way is a crop field and id be full of holes if any arrows go there!

Greg and Gut, that was what I thought. I have a 6" Stealth, but it is the black one. I'm thinking about selling it and buying the camo version to match my Switchback.

You won't be disappointed, mq... the Hardwoods -- as you can see -- comes out beautifully on these.

Greg,
When I suggested shed hunting in the off season, I meant SHED ANTLERS, not YOUR SHED!! :D:D:D

Oh I crack myself up!

Okay, now I do think I can buy a second bow and keep it a secret from my wife....back to the shop with me!

My my...they came awful close to that bike tire, and it looks like you have disc brakes too, that would have been a costly replacement (if they were hydros that is)
What kinda bike is that?....I used to ride DH, and your tires look well used:D
Damn, if that was a Hoyt your neighbors dog might have been in for a surprise!

campo, we've got two Giants in there... Mine's a Ranier (safely on the other side of the shed ;)), and my wife's is a Sedona with "comfort" tires on it... that's why the tires look "worn", because they're basically slicks on the tops with tread on the sides.

The bow does look sweet in the Realtree Hardwoods. I also like the look of the low heel on the grip, almost like shooting off the riser. She must feel really nice to shoot. Haven't gotten my hands on any of the 06 Bowtech as yet---this week hopefully.
What's your poundage set at?

From the first page, ampa... ;)

Yep, the Hardwoods looks absolutely sweet in person... and I like the fact that it sets it apart from most of the other BowTechs out there; you ought to see heads turn when you walk into a dealer holding it.

Nope she wasn't in use at the time. Those darn axis arrows Nubo shoots penetrate so much they blew through my brand new never fired at Morrel broadhead target and through the hopper door which is 40 year old 3/4" pine board. A few more inches penetration and ol Nubo would have left the arrow in there I would think [:'(]

I have been wanting to try the Bowtech.

Just how much KE are you getting out of your bow. Curious of your FPS, and your arrow weight too.

(VERY nice looking bow!!!)
