6.5 feet????? thats way too high man...3-4 feet is perfect for any camera..

On my trail camera (it is about 2 years old now) I place it about 5 ft high off the ground and set it up to take pictures about 10-15 feet away. Like other threads have said, do one of two things

1) try something different (height & distance)
or
2) contact the company and demand a refund and go with a different company

The day I set it up I tested it at the distance I thought the deer would stop. It was about 10 feet. I got a picture of myself and that was the only one it took. Also my corn looked to be scratched up by turkeys or something. The leaves were brushed away to one side. The guy at moultrie said that if it is cold my range would be longer out to 20 feet. When it gets warmer such as it has been lately ( mid 50's ) my distance would be alot shorter like 8 to 13 feet. I was well within that range cause 5 yards would be 15 feet and still no deer. I will try again but I think I may have voided my warranty and service plan. I put two lag bolts through it for security. Does that count as " customer modification " ?

Just a quick thought. Could the corn have been eaten by like racoons, rabbits, squirrels, and such that are low to the ground where the sensor wouldn't pick them up?

I did think that but for them to eat 45 pounds in about 5 days seems an awful lot for just coons. This is also a spot that I saw deer in almost everytime I hunted it. I out it on a really good trail that had tracks all thru it. I know there is deer there but I will try it again just cause I know other people have gotten them to work. I also think it may have been turkey in there. I did see some scratch marks by the corn and there was a covey of quail nearby deep in the timber. Thanks guys for all the help. Do you think the cuddebacks will get cheaper?

Our groups has 6 of the Moultrie 100s and 1 of the Moultie 200s and 1 Cuddeback 3MP. We have had good luck with all of our Moultries. We do occasionally get blank pictures with the 100s but since purchasing my 200 I have weel over 1000 pics and no blank ones. The Cuddeback is probably the most reliable with no blank pics ever and always full body shots, no just heads or butts.

The Cuddebacks have not come down in price that I know of ever. Do a little recearch and you can find a good price on them . I know that Natchez Shooters Supply has the 3MP version for $329. Probably about as cheap is you're going to find them.

mine was a lil tricky at first..but the thing that works the best on the moultrie 100's is put the camera waist high on a tree...then use the aim feature and u want it to be about waist high or a lil bit lower...that way u got the right spot on the deer when it comes in...i got mine at about 15 foot and i've got nice pics

I'm not sure where you got you Moultrie but, I would take it back and either get a new or get you money back and get a different brand. I have a Moultrie 200 and 2 cuddebacks. My Moultrie works great so far haven't had any problems. My cuddebacks I have a 3.0 verison and a 1.3 verison and I love them both, although I just had to send in my 1.3 in to have the flash fixed. Like everyone has said if you have the money get a cuddeback its a much better camera even though the Moultrie 200 is not to bad either for the money.

Lower the camera, 2-3 feet off the ground.
