RE: How many times do you hunt a single stand

I learned something about this this year. I had a grove of white oaks dropping and we killed three out of there in five days, BUT, I wasn't too smart. I gave the area a break and the deer took advantage of it and ate what was left. I got four shots in there, but I think if I had hunted it harder, I might of gotten more. I also had another stand near some persimmons in some really nasty stuff. again, gave it a rest, and it was too long of a rest. I have in my journal under lessons for this past year, if I find a food source, hunt it until that food is gone.

I think it depends on if you are scaring the deer while coming or leaving the stand. If they never detect you then you can hunt it more often. However, if the deer constantly detect you, your better off holding off.

Iuse a climbing stand only so I usually climb a different tree pretty much every hunt.

My dad and I use this one stand so much because we have taken all of our big bucks out of that stand. People tell us we will scare the deer away, but we do this every year and the deer keep coming back so I guess we prove people wrong about that kind-of thing.
