I have heard some good things about the STS system and was wondering what anyone else thought of it.
I see they have a double STS now and it says for short ATA bows but doesn't really say how short........supposed to eliminate the "thump" some guys were getting I guess.
Anyone know if it is better to get the front or rear mount or doesn't it matter??
I had a Shock Stop on my old Fred Bear bow and I loved it.......it made the bow near silent and I always thought it was a great idea but they were made from a resin plastic and they kept cracking on me. I would like to try this but don't really know much about it other then it's looks.
Does it wear your string out??.......they say you should serve the string where it hits or at least use extra wax.
Thanks

I put one on my Patriot and wouldn't be without it. It allowed me to remove the string silencers without gaining any noise.
I even tried placing them back on the string one at a time & it didn't make a difference.
The string I had on the bow throughout deer season had a served area where the STS hit, so there was now where. It's current string does not, but if it stays I'll serve it later.
BTW a friend recently installed an STS on a new hoyt TRYKON & it eliminated the string buzz I've been reading about & heard first hand.

I love mine. It deadened what I felt was already a really quiet bow. Yes you have to serve where the STS contacts the string. I don't know anything about the double ones. Front or rear mount doesn't really matter other than what your bow is already tapped for. Besides the quieting, my groups tightened up as well, due to the arrow leaving the string at the same point. That part will probablyvary fromshooter to shooter and also with how tight your nocks fit. I am frugal, and not a gadget guy by any stretch, but I love this STS system.
