I have a question. I was just wondering what everyones feels confident as their maximum range for a shot with their compounds?

20 yards, usually, but sometimes I'll shoot up to 25 yards. I don't like taking shots at animals farther than that.

I've killed a couple at 35 - 40 yds, but usually I would not shoot over 30. There were a couple times in 25 yrs when the conditions seemed "just right" to shoot further, but I wouldn't recommend it. Although they were both kill shots, I look back and think how easily something could have went wrong. Probably won't do it again. I prefer 20 yds or less, but will shoot 30 if I have to.

Never over 200 yds. for me. I just don't feel comfrotable beyond that. Although I have made kills over250 yds. I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone who hasn't shot a bow for atleast a week.

i would say 30-35 yrds. i practice out to 45-50 but alot can happen to an arrow from that distance. most shots are 15-25 tho.

I wouldn't hesitate to take a shot at 40 yrds on the right condition's ,but being in a treestand and inside a bush usually 25yrds .

I like 25-30 as my max, but I did take one at 35 this year. Everything was perfect, but I don't plan on doing that very often...remember archery is about getting them close.

25 is my limit, 30 if the conditions are perfect. No wind, relaxed deer, perfect broadside shot and I am sure of the range.
