I feel dumb right now
Ww..what a hunt..I get home from school at 3:30 and I am in the stand by 4:00. 2 hours go by and nothin happens. Then I hear footsteps to my left...The I hear some grunts and I get excited..Then I see him,,the biggest deer i have ever seen froma stand..an 8 point with nice mass..I get a beautiful shot,,10 yards quartering away.I draw my bow up and then my arrow falls from the rest and clatters down the tree..The deer bolts like lightening.I reknock feeling like crap..% minutes after this incident a nice little 4 point comes 20 yards away or so I thought..I shoot and hear what I think was a hit..He runs one way thn the other and then I hear crashing...We have looked all over and found no blood and no arrow..all we found was some white har..soi think I hit himlo maybe in theleg and the crshing was him trying to get the arrow out?? I dont now..I feel like crap right now....My dad i gonna look in the morning..

NY,
Typically, white hair isn't a good sign of a good hit. Re-climb your stand tomorrow and get your dad to go to the place where you think the deer was at when you shot and look close for your arrow and any other signs. If you dont find anything, send your dad to the last place that you can remember seeing the deer before he went out of sight. After you get out of your stand and meet him there, you guys look really close for any signs that the deer might have left.
Hope things work out for you. Maybe with a little luck you will be able to determine how well the deer was actually hit. If you guys determine that it wasnt a deadly hit, atleast that deer could still be around for another shot before the year is out.
Good huntin'

Crashing is sometimes a good sign. Agree with the previous post by the boy from GA. White hair usually comes from the belly. Arrows are sometimes HARD to find.
Only thing I could add is if you don't find blood at the last place you saw consider one of you stand there and the other start circling the position.
