Climbing Treestands

I just started bowhunting last year and i am trying to get set up for this coming bow season. Me and my dad own three hang-on stands and were looking for a bowhunting climbing stand.I'm not quite sure if the bar on the front of the stand would be in the way for shots.Iwould want one that is fairly light, stable on the tree, and is silent. I would alsolike to keep the price range within $150 but i will go up to $200 if it is necesary.
Thanks for your help!

summit viper is the best, it's a lil high, but worth every penny...

$150 - $200 for a climber. Okay... but, just remember safety is the key issue. NEVER go cheap on a climber. Been there, done that, will never do it again. I had a few scary moments a few times with a, um, er, lesser known cheap climber. [&:]

I got a Summit Viper X4 and will never buy another type of climber. It is the lightest, easiest to pack, and most strongest and secure, climber that I have found!

another vote for the summit viper.
I set the climber section (the seat) low to allow for full area of motion for my bow without hitting the front bar.

Summit Viper. Best there is. A very close second, and on sale at BassPro for $149 is the API Grand Slam Extreme. I have this stand as well, and love it. Just don't compare to the Viper though.

I recently got a API grand slam myself. I have not had the chance to
practice with it much yet but I think it will be a good stand when
I get used to it.

I bought the cheapo and have not had a problem but one. It really scars up the tree. I hunt public ground almost excusively and have found that others see my trees scarred up and hunt them, my "hot" spots are being found! I went back to hang on and ladder for that reason. If you spend the money on the viper will it mark up the trees real bad also?
