Well yesturday was the last day of our season.
It was late archery and flintlock season and since i never got a chance to shoot my flintlock, I took my bow.I had three nice sized does come only 15 yards away from me. They wouldnt come out from behind the little saplings and they were all bunched up so i never got a shot. I'll get them next year

I feel your pain guys. The Illinois archery season ended Thursday. Mobowhuntr, you are right on. My business partner and I took a long lunch on Thurs. and hit the crappie pond since we couldn't hunt. We fished for 1 1/2 hrs. and ended up with 27 all between 10"-15". Eating those fillets that night helped ease the pain of the season coming to a close.

Time to start getting ready for next season. Pack away all the gear, minus the bow and binocs. Get out scouting and start shooting 3D...
..oh boy, I am pumped for next October. It cannot get here fast enough.

As much as I look forward to next october there's a lot to be done in the mean time. Spring gobbler, trout fishing, bass fishing, and summer time are still fun things to do.
