My son turns 5 at the end of this month so we bought him a little recurve/long bow for his special day (we had the party last night for myself, and my two boys, all Jan. babies). It was awsome to see his excitement when he opened it up last night. Daddy built him a cardboard backstop for the basement (tested it by shooting the bow myself) and showed him some basics this morning. He was chomping at the bit all morning to shoot. He is still a little short in the arms for it but he can get the arrow to hit the target from 5 feet away and was he stoked!!! So was I!!! I can't wait till he gets a little taller and stronger so he can shoot from further away. This is the beginning of a great friendship and I still have one more 2 year old boy behind him to bring into the sport.

I will get some pics of him shooting and post them soon. What excitement, I feel like I just got my first bow!!!!

Ahhhh yes....It's a proud, proud day for a daddy. I see many hours spent chasing the buck of his dreams in your future. Enjoy them all.

I have had my boy shooting since he was 3 also! He is very good shot and has excellent form! He now has the Browning Micro Midas II which he is about maxed out on! So I sure he'll get a new one for this coming up Christmas! He just got his first rifle for his birthday! I got him a Marlin Bolt Action .22 Model 925 w/Busnell Scope! He loves it! Enjoy the outdoors with your son its an amazing experience!

That sounds just awesome. My wife and I are expecting our first in July. I know I will still love this sport when he/she gets old enough and I hope they will too. But for now we will just focus on eating and burping.(lol)
